Kyrgyz Economy Director Pankratov calls for cooperation and investment for Turkish business people

Economy Minister of Kyrgyzstan, Mr. Oleg Pankratov, visited Turkey between January 29th and 31st.

Mr. Oleg Pankratov, the Economy Minister of Kyrgyzstan, emphasized the recent communications between Turkish and Kyrgyz Prime Minister has ramped up economic relations. With this visit, Mr. Oleg Pankratov aimed to increase the investments and trade volume up to one billion dollars. In 31st of January, Mr. Nail Opak, the president of Foreign Economic Relations Forum (DEIK); and Mr. Oleg Pankratov visited Istanbul Trakya Free Trade Zone before the Business and Investment Opportunity Meeting hosted by Turkey & Kyrgyzstan Business council. Mr. Vuslat Çakır, the president of Istanbul Trakya Free Trade Zone, guided Kyrgyz authorities. Mr. Oleg Pankratov wants to achieve investment infrastructure within the scope of Public & Private Partnership (PPP) Model and to study building & managing free trade zones.

As the purpose of the visit, Mr. Pankratov and his committee, visited KAT Mekatronik Facilities and production zones. Mr. Alp Kozanoğlu, Vice General Manager of KAT Mekatronik, welcomed and accompanied the committee during their tour in the facility. Mr. Kozaonoglu informed committee about the technology supported production facilities and the KAT’s position in the sector. KAT Mekatronik, admired by the committee, continues to widen its network in the world.

Within the visit, Mr. Pankratov spoke about their investment projects and mentioned that Turkey is seen as a model in those projects. Mr. Pankratov added that cooperating with Turkey is a good opportunity for them to benefit from Turkish businessmen’s experiences.

In this sense, Mr. Pankratov’s visit to KAT Mekatronik carries great importance for the decision of economic cooperation between Turkish and Kyrgyz ministries.
